Title: Badische Lauchsuppe (Baden leek soup) 4 Leeks 1/2 Cups margarine or butter 2 Large onions, chopped 6 Cups water 6 Chicken Bouillon cubes 1/2 ts Salt 1 Cup milk 1 Cup finely chopped ham Optional. Slice leeks lengthwise, wash thoroughly under running water cut into 1" pieces. Melt margarine in heavy saucepan, saute leeks and onions until leeks are soft. Add water, bouillon cubes, and salt. Bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer 8 - 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add milk, heat. Ladle soup into serving dishes, sprinkle with chopped ham.
